Summary: "Extremely dishonest book, detriment to UFOlogy"
I corresponded with "Video Dave" a few years ago, a gentleman the author mentions in the book in association with UFO videos, and Dave described Michaels as "a huge liar with a huge imagination." Some of the information is cut-and-pasted from Internet BBS's, fraudulent photos e.g. the military meeting the NTL, and utterly fabricated stories under the guise of factuality all combine to give the already-shaky realm of UFOlogy yet another black eye.
Don't waste your time with this one if you seek the truth; if this book being almost 100% fiction (albeit decently entertaining fiction) doesn't bother you, pick it up if you see it at a bargain bin somewhere.

Summary: "Suspicious photos"
Was not impressed with author getting a cram course in UFO history while documenting these two very important events. Photo captioned "The military meeting the NTL" looks very Hollywood in origin. No rank or insignia on the uniform, and especially the haircut which is out of place in any time period for a military officer. The two stars in my rating was for the foia documents included in the book.

Summary: "A Good Read"
UFo Encounters was one of the best books on UFOs I have ever read. The book mixes narrations with a wealth of UFO information. It had interesting characters which was different from most UFOs I have read. I have seen several other UFO writers on various networks saying bad things about this book. Yet I learned a lot about the UFO which landed in Canada.
I have read the other review of this book and find the comments unfair and also not accurate in several places. I find it hard to understand how all of the information from this book could come from the network. There was no network when this book was first written.
As I said it was a good read.

Summary: "The most dishonest UFO book I've ever read."
This is THE most dishonest discussion of 2 ufo cases that I've read, ever. Additionally, the book was padded with a jumble of information directly downloaded from the internet. I believe this author was not only just trying to make a buck, but unwilling to even to make a minimum effort, so that the mess would at least sound logical.
